It is critical to plan ahead when traveling to be sure that medications are readily available. Following are some messages addressing this issue.
Anyway - daddy's nurse fills two (2) weeks worth of pill boxes (a 7 day pill box divided into the specified times - A.M./P.M.) each time she visits him - but any time he goes anywhere - we fill an extra week's worth
The same goes for me, as i've now learned the hard way what running out of my own meds can do to me! so knowing that I was supposed to be gone for two (2) weeks - I loaded up three (3) weeks worth - and "just" made it!
Anyway - this works for us.
Oh, and don't forget to have all the written info needed for quick reference. I have a form I use for each member of my family, it has pill boxes filled for each day of the week.
I buy all of my prescription drugs at Walgreen's (nope, don't own stock in Walgreen's). The reason we do this, is that we do travel frequently.....and I can get my meds refilled at ANY Walgreen's in the US. Perhaps some of the other chains of drug stores have this service also......if so, it would be helpful to the list to know what is available when we are traveling. (All the meds are in a computer database for Walgreen's so it takes no longer to get a refill in Missoula Montana, Lincoln, or San Francisco....every store will even call the MD for approval for a renewal.)
