Sample day EVERYDAY Care: Doctor appointments alter times not care tasks.
6:30 AM Sinemet 25/250 (blue), Proamantine (orange 5mg), florineff 4 (light pink) , celexa- 10 mg., lamictal 50 mg - ½ tablet, lactulose if bowel movement not made in 2 days
10 AM- sinemet
11 AM proamantine
1 PM sinemet
4 PM sinemet and proamantine
7 PM sinemet
Based on VNA daily plan care sheet.
8 AM
- laundry procedures
take lint out or drain plug
put towels OR clothes in washing machine and bring up the clean laundry----TIDE FREE, cold water, cold rinse, hang to dry clothes
hand wash the hose and bra in the clean bathroom sink with Woolite /generic Woolite , hang hose and bras individually one bra per clip , one panty hose 2-3 clips.with clippy over bathtub. The shower liner is to be inside the shower keeping the hose, ect from dripping on the floor!
- make sure 2 susticals/ensures is in buggy
- water in washed out with dish liquid soap plastic cup with snap on lid with straw and give to the patient
- wipe counter with a clean cloth dry with a clean paper towel, cutting boards, put patients dishes/utensils in dishwasher OR wash, dry and put the patient’s utensils, dishes away.
- The food processor MUST be washed and dried and placed back on the blue dycem circle that is on the cleaned counter top .

8:45 AM
- 2 bath/body towels and 1 wash cloth They are in the hallway closet next to the patient’s bathroom
- Patient brushes teeth and urinates while aide is getting things- like towels, clothing, pads, get the hose, bra, panties, spandex out of drawers in the bathroom, place on the counter top away from the sink bowl.
- give patient a bath with hand held shower- Basis soap, wash cloth, and water, shampoo patient’s hair and rinse the hair, cover eyes and ears
- Turn knob to the right to turn off the shower when done
- place in the TOP notch of the vertical rod on the wall facing the door
- dry patient’s hair with one towel and body with the other clean bath/body towel/s, not the used wash cloth
- assist patient getting out of the tub
- assist the patient with the bathroom chair in front of the bathroom cabinet,
- dry off the patient,
- Brush patient’s hair
- make bed with big pillows at the head and feet, leave sheet untucked
- vacuum bedroom and small area right in walkway to patients bathroom while the patient dries their hair
- put clothes, arch insoles , shoes in bag for the morning activity
- hang clothes or put towels in dryer
- take lint out of drain plug in the sink next to the washing machine and put in garbage can next to sink in the basement
9:45 AM
- go to physical therapy
12 noon
- go back home patient sleeps in car when going home on doctor appointment day clinic is 15 miles away. Mileage is kept track of daily.
1 PM
- Make lunch - small pureed meal, fluids, microwave potatoe- mashed with margarine and light salt , garlic is fine salt for now is required per physician minute rice - ¾ cup cooked,
1:30 PM
- ½ hour after meds - eat lunch - in the kitchen or dining room
2:15 PM - 4 PM
- activity- movement type
- patient naps
- iron clothes with WATER in the IRON, clean up dishes with liquid detergent, rinse with clean water, dry and put away OR rinse the item and place in the dishwasher put in the dishwasher,
- paperwork - check off sheet
- snack
- tidy up bathroom, eating areas
Big thank you's for getting patient to physical therapy, bathing patient, assisting them with dressing, preparing the food on a bowl with a spoon, getting to doctors on time, cleaning their areas, pressing the tops, shorts/skirts- knit mostly,
NO smoking, or No driving vehicle for aides personal use.
Paperwork will not be signed unless they are filled out completely- not time consuming
Questions by aide will be addressed through a conference between the agency , family , and patient.
