This thread began with a question asking how to help a PWP get dressed in spite of the difficulties caused by parkinson's.

I'm not sure if I've seen this mentioned here or on another list, but I'll pass it on anyway.

One CareGiver with problems like yours uses empty plastic bread bags to help get the socks on her husband's legs. She cuts open the closed end of the bag and puts it inside the sock. Then she pulls on the sock with the bag inside it. The bag makes the sock slide on more easily. When the sock is up, she pulls the bag out the top and slides it back down outside the leg and off.

Maybe something along these lines would work for you, too.

Roll the socks up, fit them over the foot (toes) and unroll them. Some of my patients used to do this but it must be hard. never tried myself

PS the plastic bag idea seem good.

When my husband was finding it difficult to put on his underwear, he made me buy "boxer shorts' type with no elastic in the legs. Found it easier
